-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 > Erols > says they firewall their network- does this mean the remote hosts have > penetrated the firewall- or is Erols letting in telnet? Well... ISP's generally have firewalls between their server farm and the rest of the world (except for fnord.net which is, I believe, behind a filtering router at erols). The rest of erols dialup users (me included) are outside the firewall. I was doing some probing from home (where I had the linux box and therefore the tools) against the servers I was running at a former employers and never had a peep from anything at erols. Be advised, though, that erols is rumored to have some sort of logging/IDS in place, though what I am not sure. Just my 2 cents worth, - --hal -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 5.5.5 for non-commercial use <http://www.nai.com> iQA/AwUBNmFf0x/+hcPoHEXuEQJrSwCfXMkVZxHBT70lrvayte40HmV0No4AoPfX 7WnX4JVdZt35srr6seYArQ+o =aePf -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
